About
Some are surprised by the name of our church, Eglise Protestante Internationale. Aren’t “international” churches supposed to be in English? When we first began considering our name, we were already a group of believers from different nations. As we thought and prayed about our church’s name, this original group felt that “international” was more a mentality than simply speaking English. So the idea came to have “Internationale” along with “Protestante’ an identification which gives us credibility. EPI, which is French for a stalk of wheat, is a symbol of the harvest, Psalm 126.5, 6.
In reality in the very beginning we were born within and from an English-speaking international church, Toulouse International Church (TIC), located in Cornebarrieu, also a suburb of Toulouse. Even in the years prior to the decision by the CMA leadership and the TIC council in 2003/4, Pastor Paul Goodman had dreamed of seeing a French ministry as part of this English-speaking church. When a French Alpha Course began in January 2001 in a home in Tournefeuille, the French ministry was put into motion even though we had no idea where it would go. God blessed and people came to faith in Jesus. The result was a house group that eventually grew into an afternoon worship service in French at Toulouse International in 2005.
Since 2008, we have been an officially organized church. In March 2009, we moved into a rented facility that we had recently renovated with the help of local volunteers, as well as, a work team from partner churches Trinity Alliance and Grace Community in New Jersey. Thanks as well goes to the generous giving and prayer support from another partner church, Thornbury Baptist in Bristol, England.
The Lord is blessing and we are seeing growth as we seek to build a house of prayer for His honor and glory. We look forward to welcoming you to our church. Bienvenue à tous et à toutes!
